Beach

Bingie Beach (NSW 579) commences on the southern side of the point and trends to the south-southwest for 4.3 km (Fig. 4.391) to the usually blocked mouth of Coila Lake, at Tuross Head. It is backed by a continuous 200 m wide barrier, with several active blowouts along the northern 2 km, with a creek behind. The beach is accessible on foot from the Bingie Point car park and off the road leading south of the point to the Tuross sewerage treatment works. In the south it can be reached across the usually blocked mouth via Tuross Head with a car park and picnic area on the south side of the Coila Bar. This is an exposed relatively steep beach with waves averaging 1.5 m, which maintain a continuous bar cut by rips every few hundred metres, with up to 15 rips along the beach, including permanent rips against the northern rocks and off the Coila Bar. The rips are often linked by a longshore trough.

Swimming

These are three relatively isolated rip-dominated beaches, with the lowest waves on at the more accessible southern end of Kellys Lake beach.

Surfing

There are generally persistent beach breaks which occur along all three beaches, usually increasing in height northward.

Fishing

Good gutters are usually found along the three beaches, particularly on the long Bingie Beach, while Bingie Bingie Point has a reputation for being one of the best rock fishing spots on the south coast.

General

Bingie Bingie Point is a 15 m high narrow granite point that protrudes 500 m seaward, with three national park beaches (NSW 577-578) to either side. The Bingie road enters the national park and terminates at a car park on the point.
