Beach

Beach NT 1408 commences on the southern side of the 100 m long laterite outcrop. It is a curving 1.5 km long low energy beach fronted by patchy coral reef flats extending 1 km offshore, with some ribbons of sand across the flats. A 300 m wide wooded section (possibly Pleistocene barrier?) backs the beach with a circular 20 ha shallow lagoon behind. It terminates at a 200 m long section of low rock outcrops, beyond which is beach NT 1409.
