Beach

Beach Q 8 is a similar 2.2 km long narrow barrier, that has a new low 1 km long beach forming a few hundred metres off the inner beach. Mangroves are also growing on the eastern tidal flats adjacent to the inlet, shielding this end of the beach from direct wave action. It is backed by a 2 km wide series of 10 beach ridges, then 5 km of salt flats.

General

Hann Creek forms the boundary between beaches Q 8 and Q 9 and its inlet sand shoals protrude over 2 km into the gulf.
