Beach

Beach 488 extends north of the second bluff for 750 m to a more continuous series of bluffs. This seagrass-fronted sandy beach is also backed by bluffs and accessible from car parks at either end.

Swimming

These are usually low wave and relatively safe beaches, apart from the deeper water over the seagrass meadows.

Surfing

None.

Fishing

Point Warrene and the jetty ruins provide the best access to deeper water.

General

Balgowan is a small town offering good beach access and limited facilities for travellers, but no accommodation.
