Cape Hardy is a 20 m high dune capped granite headland, located 7 km south of Port Neill, and accessible via a gravel road that runs from the highway due east for 8 km to the cape. Either side of the cape are a series of low headland-bound white sandy beaches, all backed by low dunes and then farmland, with public access only via the Cape Hardy track and no development or facilities. All the beaches tend to faces east to southeast and usually receives low swell and wind waves less than 1 m high.Beach 673 is a 400 m long southeast facing sand beach bordered by low granite boulder headlands. A vehicle track winds through the backing farmland to a car park adjacent to the small creek that occasionally flows across the southern end of the beach. A continuous bar fronts the beach, with rips forming during higher waves.
