UNPATROLLED BEACH

Beach number: saL4
State/Region: SA - North Shields
Beach name: Barry Landing
Beach

Point Marsden lies 1 km southeast of North Cape and lying immediately west of the point is a 260 m long sand beach (KI-218), bordered by 50 m wide rock platforms, together with scattered rocks lying along the shoreline.

Swimming

The only beaches suitable for safe swimming are the sandy parts of the two Boxing Bay beaches. However be careful if there are waves, as rock-controlled rips will form.

Surfing

Only low beach breaks during higher wave periods.

Fishing

The best fishing is off the rock platforms which border each beach.

General

An isolated bay mainly used by local fishers.
