Beach
East of High Dune Point, the coast faces northwest and is dominated by bluffs for 2 km, along the base of which are two 800 m long high tide sand beaches. The first (KI-41) forms the northern boundary of the settlement and is the site of a boat ramp, located at the end of the main settlement road. Three metre high, eroding calcarenite bluffs back the narrow high tide beach, which is fronted by a narrow sand bar. Deep Creek drains across the eastern end of the beach. East of the creek the bluffs continue for another kilometre, along the base of which is an 800 m long, more discontinuous narrow high tide beach (KI-42).
Swimming
These are five relatively low wave beaches which are better at high tide, owing to the shallow bars and sand flats exposed at low tide. Watch for rocks and rock flats on some of the beaches.
Surfing
None.
Fishing
Better off the bluffs at high tide.
General
