Beach

At Saltwater Creek the shoreline turns and trends west to Adams Bay. This is the northernmost bay in the Great Bay and consists of a south-facing 500 m long low energy beach (BI 83) fronted by 300 m wide inner transverse and outer ridged sand flats which face due south towards Ford Bay 4 km to the south. The beach is backed by gently sloping partly cleared farmland, with an oyster works on the western point and oyster racks spread across the outer flats (Figure 4.112). At the western end of the beach the shoreline turns south for 1 km to Stallards Point and is backed by densely vegetated slopes rising to 80 m.
