Beach

Beach FI 130 commences on the eastern side of the 100 m wide boundary point and trends to the northeast for 500 m to a small calcarenite outcrop. It is sheltered by the extensive reefs to the east, as well as scattered reefs further offshore, with waves averaging 1m or less at the shore, where they maintain a low gradient reflective to low tide terrace beach. It is backed by vegetated dune calcarenite and transgressive dunes that trend east parallel to the rear of the beach. Beach FI 131 lies immediately to the east and is a 60 m long pocket of sand, bordered and backed by 10 m high scarped dune calcarenite, with debris from the bluffs littering the rear of the beach. In addition granite rocks and reefs extend 100 m off each end of the beach resulting in low waves at the shore and usually reflective conditions.
