Beach

Redgate Beach (WA 652) is located on the southern side of Isaacs Rock. It is a 350 m long, west-facing relatively exposed beach bordered by granulite rocks and boulders, and backed by three active blowouts which partially climb the backing 50 m high vegetated calcarenite bluffs (Fig 4.134). In addition Calgardup Brook drains out across the northern end of the beach. Waves average over 1.5 m and maintain an 80 m wide central bar, with two permanent rips draining out against the rocks to either end. There is a righthand break into the northern rip, as well as beach breaks across the bar.
