Beach
Beach WA 1989 commences on the northern side of the 100 m wide shallow creek mouth and extends north for 1.8 km to terminate at the next calcarenite-controlled tidal creek. This beach is dominated by calcarenite, which outcrops from the creek mouth the length of the beach. The calcarenite forms intertidal rock flats, backed by a narrow high tide beach, then a scarped 20 m high Holocene foredune that blankets the Pleistocene calcarenite core to a width of 100-500 m. The barrier is backed by 1 km wide salt flats, then the coastal plain, with vehicle tracks running across the salt flats to the beach.
