Beach K 42 commences on the north side of Red Bluff and curves gently toward the northeast for 7.1 km to the mouth of Baldwin Inlet (Fig. 4.12). Rock reefs lie 2-3 km offshore and parallel the low energy reflective sandy beach, which is backed by active sand dunes extending up to 2 km inland and to heights of 35 m. Baldwin Creek is an 800 ha tidal creek, largely dominated by mangroves, fringed by salt flats.
