Armands Bay (NSW 636) is surrounded by a sloping council reserve and can be accessed off the northern Kataroo Road. The steep 40 m high northern headland is called 'Golden Gate' while a 30 m high cliffs bordered it to the south. It faces due east with the 280 m long beach receives waves averaging about 1.4 m, which usually maintain an attached bar and two permanent rips against each headland (Fig. 4.410). It is backed by a low grassy foredune, then densely vegetated slopes with a small lagoon and creek draining out in the northern corner.
