On the south side of the small Cuttagee Point is the usually open entrance to the 80 ha Cuttagee Lake. Cuttagee Beach (NSW 633) commences at the entrance and curves to the south for 900 m to the rocky base of Barragga Point. The main road runs right behind a low foredune and besides parking at either end, access is available right along the beach. The beach receives some protection from the dominant southeast wave from the point, and as a result wave height usually drops from 1.5 to 1 m down the beach. This produces a single attached bar, usually cut by 5-6 rips, with permanent rips against the headlands, but whose intensity tends to decrease southward.
Beach Length: 0.9km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
