To the south of Goalen Head is an open 2.5 km long embayment bordered by 127 m high Bunga Head to the south. In between are three exposed rock-bound beaches (NSW 638-640), separated by two small grassy headlands all located in the national park. The northern beach (NSW 638) is 200 m long and faces the south-southeast, with cleared grassy slope behind and rock-reef in the centre. It receives waves averaging 1.5 m which maintain an attached bar usually cut by permanent rips against the northern rocks, central reef and southern rocks. The main Bunga Beach (NSW 639) is 1.3 km long, commences at a usually blocked creek mouth, and weaves its way south with considerable rocks front the central-southern section, where a cobble beach also backs the sand, with partly vegetated slope rising to 50 m behind. The surf usually has an attached bar cut by five permanent rips all controlled by the rocks and reefs. The southern beach (NSW 640) is 370 m long and fronts a small valley, with a small creek against the northern end. It usually has an attached bar, with permanent rips running out against the boundary rocks and a cobble beach hard against the southern rocks. The beach is backed by a steep densely vegetated southern slope rising to the 127 m high Bunga Trig, while the cliffs of Bunga Head extend 1 km to the south.
