The northernmost (NSW 712) lies 2 km south of Wonboyn Beach at the mouth of the small Merrica River, which flows out of a steep V-shaped valley into a 300 wide northeast-facing bay, its entrance blocked by the 250 m long northeast-facing beach (Fig. 4.436). The river flows out against the southern end of the each and during flood breaches the remainder, resulting in a low sandy beach with usually little vegetation. The beach receives waves averaging less than 1 m, which maintain a 100 m wide tide terrace, with wave spilling across the bar. A rip flows out against the northern rocks and tidal flow against the southern rocks.
