The northern beach (NSW 612) commences below Cape Dromedary and extends to the south as a series of arcs for 1.3 km, lying at the base of low vegetated bluffs and fronted by extensive rocks and reefs up to 200 m offshore. These reduce waves at the shore where the beach alternates between reflective and low tide terrace depending on wave height. Numerous rocks and reefs lie along and off the beach, with some rips against the rocks.
