Beach PH 4 is the only beach on the western side of the bay. It is located 1 km inside Burraneer Point, and consists of a 110 m long northeast-facing strip of sand located at the end of Lugano Street, and adjacent to the Offshore Rescue Base, which has a boat shed and jetty on the southern boundary rocks (Fig. 4.265). It has a 10 m wide high tide beach grading abruptly into 50 m wide sand flats, with oyster covered rocks to either end, and some rocks on the beach. It is backed by beachfront houses with a private jetty across the northern end.
