Beach NT 129 lies immediately west of the 18 m high Talc Head, the head composed of Proterozoic gneiss. It is a 500 m long northwest-facing strip of high tide sand, inter-fingering with a boulder beach and bordering rocks and fronted by the 500 m wide sand to mud flats of Woods Inlet.
