Kirkville Hills is an 80 m high and 3 km wide hillock located 3 km south of Cape Richards, the northern tip of the island. The base of the hills are exposed to the higher waves of Shepherd Bay to the east and the calmer conditions of Missionary Bay to the west. These three beaches fringe the western base of the hills. All three are in a natural state, with no development and no access other than by boat or foot. Two Sisters Beach (799) begins on the north side of the western tip, is 400 m long and is bordered at each end by rocky shore. It faces north-west and consists of a narrow high tide beach fronted by initially narrow tidal flats in the west, which rapidly widen to several hundred metres in the east.
