Robinson Beach is located 2 km south of the entrance to Mourilyan Harbour. It consists of two pockets of sand wedged in at the based of 100 m high Esmeralda Hill, to the south of Hayter Point. Dense tropical vegetation extends right to the back of the beaches, and the main northern beach is backed by the narrow Seaforth valley that links it with Mourilyan Harbour. There is no development on either beach and no vehicle access.
The southern beach (770) lies on the south side of the rocks that separate it from the main beach. The beach itself if 250 m long and consists of a steep high tide beach and a wider, flatter low tide bar. However, rocks completely dominate both ends as well as almost enclosing the beach in rock reefs and a sea stack. As a result, waves are lower at the beach; however it is extremely hazardous to swim in the surf owing to the rocks and associated rips.
