Nina Peak is a 300 m high, rocky crag that protrudes above the tropical surrounds. One kilometre due east of the peak is 500 m long, east facing Nina Beach (812). Viewed from the sea, the peak provides a dramatic backdrop to the beach. The beach is bordered by rock-fringed headlands and backed by a narrowing, 4 km long valley. A small creek that drains the valley flows out at the northern end of the beach, hard against the northern rocks. Nina Beach receives waves averaging 0.5 m that surge against a narrow high tide beach, while at low tide a 60 m wide bar is exposed, usually with rips against the rocks and the possibility of two to three along the beach. The beach is backed by a low, densely vegetated foredune, including a few palm trees. There are no facilities and the only access is by boat or on foot.
Beach Length: 0.5km
General Hazard Rating: 2/10
