Walker Bay is a 2 km wide, north facing bay in lee of Grave Point. The more protected eastern two-thirds of the bay are fringed by mangroves, while in the slightly more energetic western third there is a 1.3 km long, north-east facing sandy beach. The beach runs south from the low rocky boundary with the southern Mount McIntosh beach (649), down to where it grades into mangroves and finally tidal flats. The beach receives low waves, less than 0.5 m high, and consists of a narrow high tide beach backed by dense vegetation, with a 50 m wide low tide bar, that increases in width to each end. A small creek drains across the northern end. There is no vehicle access to the beach and no facilities.
Beach Length: 1.3km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
