Between the second headland south of Agnes Water and Rocky Point is a near-continuous, 3 km strip of sandy shore, broken into five beaches by a series of small, rocky points. All the beaches face east-north-east and generally receive waves averaging 0.5 to 1 m. The waves, together with the medium sand, produce generally moderate to steep high tide beaches fronted by a 50 m wide low tide bar, with rips prominent on all beaches and permanent rips against the rocks. Beach 1478 is a 500 m long, rock-bound, sand and gravel beach, with both boundary and central rock outcrops.
