Immediately south of the southern rocks is a 3 km long beach (1398) extending from the cape to a dynamic spit, that forms the northern shore of a highly variable tidal inlet. The beach has a 30 m wide, moderately steep high tide beach fronted by a 150 m wide, continuous low tide bar, with waves averaging 0.5 m. A low foredune parallels the back of the beach, which is in turn backed by an extensive series of casuarina-covered foredune and beach ridges extending up to 1.5 km inland and ending in recurved spits to the south. There is a shack toward the northern end of the beach, but otherwise no development.
Beach Length: 3km
General Hazard Rating: 2/10
