Between the end of the long beach 1409 and Sandhill Trig Station, 5.5 km to the south, is a predominantly rocky coast containing six exposed, rock-bound beaches. The beaches are all backed by vegetated, dune covered rocks and there is a landing strip 1 km west of beach 1413. There are 4WD tracks leading to all the other beaches and to shacks located behind beaches 1411, 1413 and 1414, but otherwise no development or facilities.
Beach 1412 is a narrow, 400 m long high tide sand beach fronted by a 150 m wide, low gradient, continuous bar, with rocky points to either end and a patch of rock flats to the south. It is backed by a low, spinifex-covered foredune that grades into the larger vegetated parabolic dunes. A 4WD track skirts the foredune and low headlands.
