South of Sandhill Trig Station is a relatively straight, 3 km section of rocky shore containing six small, sandy beaches, all bordered by rocky points and backed by dune-capped, rocky bluffs between 20 and 40 m high. There is an access track to beach 1418, but otherwise no development.
Beaches 1417 and 1418 are two 500 m long, low gradient, sandy beaches backed by narrow strips of dry high tide sand and a low, grassy foredune. Fresh water drains across both beaches at low tide. Both are bounded by rocky points, while 1417 has a central rock bluff behind the high tide beach and 1418 a more protruding bluff and rock flats in the centre of the beach, that divide the beach in two at high tide.
Beach Length: 0.5km
