South of Sandhill Trig Station is a relatively straight, 3 km section of rocky shore containing six small, sandy beaches, all bordered by rocky points and backed by dune-capped, rocky bluffs between 20 and 40 m high. There is an access track to beach 1418, but otherwise no development. Beach 1420 is a 500 m long, east-north-east facing beach, which receives slight protection from a 200 m long, 30 m high southern headland. The beach is backed by low, vegetated bluffs and has a low high tide beach fronted by a 150 m wide, low gradient low tide bar, with waves averaging less than 0.5 m. Just around the southern point is 50 m long beach 1421; a narrow high tide cobble and sand beach fronted by intertidal rock flats and bordered by 20 m high bluffs to the side and rear.
Beach Length: 0.5km
