Between Clews Point and Bustard Head is a 3 km wide, north-east facing embayment containing four beaches. Beach 1456 is a 150 m long, rock-bound beach on the eastern side of Clews Point. It is backed and bordered by rocks of the point, with the beach usually awash at high tide, but with a 50 m wide low tide bar usually fronted by an outer bar cut by two rips, located at each end against the rocks.
