Clews Point is a prominent, 50 m high headland capped by a shipping beacon. There is 4WD access to the beacon via the 40 m high, wooded ridge line that forms the spine of the point. The point forms the northern tip of a 4 km long bedrock ridge, that includes Bustard Head. On the western side of the point is 3 km of south trending, rocky coast that forms the eastern side of Pancake Creek inlet. A 500 m wide tidal channel and sand shoals parallel the point on the other side of the inlet. In amongst the rocky point shoreline are four small, west facing beaches.
Beach 1452 is a crenulate, 200 m long high tide beach fronted by some rocks and 300 m wide, ridged sand flats, then the deep inlet channel.
