One kilometre north of Farmers Point is an open, 1.5 km long, west facing bay that is bordered in the north by North Point. The area is called The Oaks and the bay beach (F15) is very protected from waves and more dominated by the strong tidal currents of North Entrance, which parallels the bay. The bay shore contains a 2 km long, curving and crenulate low energy beach, which in the south is fronted by tidal flats, together with one of only three creeks on the island, that crosses the beach and flows across the flats. The northern end however, parallels the North Entrance tidal channels and has deep water and strong tidal currents right off the beach. In the past, sand has blown onto this beach from the eastern beaches but the sand blows have now been stabilised.
Beach Length: 2km
