The south-eastern end of Facing Island consists of 3 km of south-east facing shore between East Point, the eastern tip of the island, and Gatcombe Head, the southern point. In between are two small bays bordered by rocky bluffs and low cliffs.East Point Beach (F7) is a 100 m long strip of high tide sand fronted by rough rock flats, that narrow to the east, and backed by a grassy, 15 m high bluff. There is 4WD access to the point and beach.

Swimming

The western beach is best for swimming owing to the absence of rocks, which dominate the other three point beaches.

Surfing

The three longer beaches are exposed to southerly swell and can produce some waves over the bar at low tide and reefs at high tide.

Fishing

The rock flats off the points and the beach rock flats offer numerous spots to fish the rocks and gutters.

General

Four point-bound beaches largely dominated by rocks, apart from the western beach.
