Beach 1435 commences at an inflection in the island, at the point where the 3km wide tidal delta shoals of Colosseum Inlet join the beach. These extensive shoals protect the southern beach, with no waves reaching the beach during low tide. However, the high tide beach has a steep, narrow beach face and a 100m wide bar, before the tidal shoals begin.

Swimming

Both beaches are relatively safe, clear of the creek and inlet channels and currents.

Surfing

The northern beach receives low to moderate waves during southerly winds, which are best across the bar at mid tide.

Fishing

The creek and inlet are the most popular spots, although you can also fish from the beach at high tide.

General

A low, natural beach that is only accessible by boat, but offers many kilometres of little used shoreline.
