South of Carmila beach the coast continues on as a series of increasingly low energy beaches, bordered by numerous creeks and fronted by extensive intertidal sand flats, with mangroves increasing toward Clairview. While the highway runs just a few kilometres inland, there is only 4WD access to the coast just north of Clairview. Between Feather and Oaky Creeks is 15 km of coast consisting of five beaches, all bordered by creeks draining the backing Connors Range. The land between the highway and the coast increasingly gives way from sugar farms to cattle grazing areas.
Three Mile Beach (1200) is 3.4 km long, faces east and is bordered by Feather Creek in the north and Flaggy Rock Creek to the south. It consists of a narrow high tide beach backed by 200 m of low dunes, then scrubby coastal plain. The beach is fronted by 1 to 2 km wide, rock and sand tidal flats that are widest and rockiest off the creek mouth. A few mangroves also grow at the mouth of Flaggy Rock Creek. Two 4WD tracks provide access to the creek mouths at either end of the beach.
