Between Oaky Creek and Clairview is a 10 km section of east facing coast consisting of three beach ridge systems, before the coastal plain again dominates the shore at Clairview. The highway, which is 4 km inland at Oaky Creek, finally comes within 300 m of the coast at Clairview; the first time the coast is visible from the highway since Bowen, 270 km to the north, and the Gold Coast, 1850 km to the south.
Dingo Creek beach (1209) runs from the southern side of Tin Case Creek for 1.8 km to the mouth of Dingo Creek, at which point the shore protrudes east for 500 m. The beach consists of a steep, narrow high tide beach fronted by the two creek deltas and 1.5 km wide tidal flats. A spur of higher ground backs the centre of the beach and this area and the northern lower beach ridges form the site of several shacks. The southern half of the beach is backed by a few hundred metres of high tide salt flats.
