South of Carmila beach the coast continues on as a series of increasingly low energy beaches, bordered by numerous creeks and fronted by extensive intertidal sand flats, with mangroves increasing toward Clairview. While the highway runs just a few kilometres inland, there is only 4WD access to the coast just north of Clairview. Between Feather and Oaky Creeks is 15 km of coast consisting of five beaches, all bordered by creeks draining the backing Connors Range. The land between the highway and the coast increasingly gives way from sugar farms to cattle grazing areas. Oaky Creek beach (1204) extends for another 4 km from the southern side of the unnamed creek to the prominent mouth of Oaky Creek. The entire beach is backed by the low coastal plain and consequently has a crenulate, east-north-east facing shoreline, with rock flats forming the points in the crenulations, and 1 km wide tidal flats paralleling the beach.
