Between Allom and Glendower Points is an open, east facing, 6 km wide, low energy bay, with Dawson Creek located in the centre. Apart from one 4WD track that crosses the high tide flats to the southern Allom Point beach, there is no vehicle access or development on any of the beaches.
Four hundred metres to the south, across the Dawson Creek mouth, is beach 1155, a 750 m long, low energy high tide beach fronted by 2 km of tidal flats and fringed by occasional mangroves. The beach faces due north and is backed by a low, 300 m wide beach ridge plain and bordered to the east by mangrove-covered rock flats.
