Hector beach lies at the mouth of Louisia Creek and in lee of the Hay Point coal loading terminal and its 3 km long jetty. The beach and its beachfront houses are accessible via a 1 km road off the Hay Point Road. There is a good boat launching ramp and amenities block at the Louisia Creek mouth which forms the western end of the beach, but no other facilities. The main beach (1131) is 1.5 km long and curves around to face north-east. It consists of a 100 to 200 m wide foredune, backed by the mangroves of the creek and fronted by a 100 m wide low tide bar then sand flats extending another 500 m into the bay.
Beach Length: 1.5km
