Between Genesta Bay and The Inlet, inside Repulse Bay, is over 25 km of rugged and rocky shoreline. In several small indentations in the shore and at the mouths of a few small creeks are ten boulder beaches totalling about 2.8 km in length. Most of the beaches are exposed to Trade wind waves and all are difficult, even dangerous, to land on when the Trades are blowing.
Beaches 1038, 1039, 1040 and 1041 are a series of four boulder beaches located in an open, 2.5 km wide, south-east facing bay that lies immediately west of Cape Conway. They each occupy the mouth of a small valley and are all composed of steep, cobble to boulder high tide beaches, with low tide boulder flats. A few mangroves grow at the eastern end of the first beach.
