McEwens beach (north, 1124) is a 3 km long sand spit that is slowly moving into Baker Creek. Over the past 6000 years similar spits have built the shore out over 1 km, with the low sand ridges separated by extensive mangrove-covered tidal flats. There is a 1.5 km long 4WD track across the tidal flats and ridges to the eastern tip of the spit, but otherwise no development.
Beach Length: 2.1km
