Flaggy Rock Creek is a small, mangrove-fringed tidal creek that enters the coast at the southern end of a 3 km long, north-south trending section of coast fronted by two beaches, and backed by gently rising, cleared grazing land. The only vehicle access is via the farm tracks. The northern beach (1075) is 1.3 km long and faces east. It extends from a low, cleared headland to a small, cuspate foreland in lee of an offshore rock reef. It is backed by a near-continuous, linear, land-locked lagoon. On the southern side of the foreland is beach 1076, which runs another 1.7 km past a small creek mouth to the larger, mangrove-fringed mouth of Flaggy Creek. At low tide the creek drains across the wide intertidal beach. Both beaches receive waves averaging about 0.5 m, with height decreasing in lee of the reef and toward the creek mouth. The low waves and fine sand maintain a wide, low gradient beach, with a 100 m wide bar along the northern beach, while south of the foreland the bar widens to become a 500 m wide, low, ridged sand flat. At the creek mouth the coast turns east and is fringed by mangroves all the way to the northern Mentmore beach headland.
