The Mentmore beaches are two headland-bound beaches, 450 m and 1.3 km long, respectively. They both face north-east and are bounded by low, cleared, rocky headlands, with mangroves fringing the southernmost headland. They are backed by cleared grazing land. The northern beach (1077) is wedged in between rocky reefs extending off both headlands, together with a small tidal creek exiting across the southern corner of the beach. Two hundred and fifty metre wide, ridged sand flats front the low gradient beach, while a row of casuarinas line the low foredune behind the beach.
