Finlayson Point forms the northern boundary of Seaforth beach. It is a 1.5 km long, low, rocky, north-east trending point, with two low energy beaches located on its northern side. A vehicle track from Seaforth leads to the point. Beach 1087 is part of a series of vegetated recurved spits located on the very protected northern side of the point and consists of a 300 m gap in the predominantly mangrove-fringed, sandy shoreline. The second beach (1088) is out on the point itself and is a curving, north facing, 300 m long, sandy high tide beach fronted by 500 m of sand and rock flats that connect with Redcliff Island.
