On the southern side of Lamberts beach is 2.4 km long North Harbour beach (1115), which faces due east and runs straight down to the northern harbour wall of Mackay Harbour. The beach is accessible on foot from Lamberts beach, or via a gravel road through the Mackay Harbour area, which leads to the southern end of the beach. Most of the beach is backed by natural, largely vegetated, 10 to 20 m high sand dunes, although there are plans to link the Slade Point Road to the harbour road. The beach has a moderately steep high tide beach fronted by a 150 m wide low tide bar. Waves average 0.6 m and rips occasionally form along the low tide bar.
Beach Length: 2.4km
