Shoalwater Creek is the largest creek draining into the southern end of Shoalwater Bay. It meanders for 8 km though the mangroves before reaching the open bay. Here the shoreline is dominated by mangroves and tidal flats, except for a 500 m section of sand immediately east of the 1 km wide creek mouth. This beach (1299) is only suitable for landing boats and fishing at high tide. It is not recommended for swimming owing to the strong tidal currents and presence of crocodiles.
Beach Length: 0.5km
