South of Hollis Creek mouth the coast is dominated by the lower slopes of the Roger Hills, an 8 km line of hills that rise to 140 m and parallel the coast 2 to 3 km inland. The coast continues to be dominantly sandy, with the beaches wedged in between rocky bluffs.
On the southern side of Hollis Creek is a 700 m long strip of sand (beach 1264) that lies in lee of the extensive tidal shoals and a few rocks off the creek mouth. This is a low energy beach backed by a low, vegetated foredune and gently rising wooded slope, with a small creek exiting across the southern end of the beach. There are also a few shacks beside Hollis Creek mouth.
