Water Park Point is an irregular, 80 m high headland that forms both the southern boundary of Nine Mile Beach and the northern head of expansive Corio Bay. Much of the 4 km of headland shore is rock, however set in the northern flanks are two small beaches, with longer Little Corio Bay just north of the southern tip. The base of the point is accessible via Nine Mile Beach, however there is no formal vehicle access to the point or the beach and no development. The two Water Park Point beaches face north-east and are wedged into two small adjoining valleys. The first beach (1358) has an irregular, rocky backshore, then a 100 m wide intertidal to low tide sandy beach. The second beach (1359) is backed by a 50 m long boulder beach, flanked by wide rock platforms and fronted by a similar sandy beach. The two beaches link at low tide to form a continuous strip of sand 200 m long. Waves average about 0.4 m and spill across the low gradient bar.
Beach Length: 0.05km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
