Clam Bay is a 2km long, open, south facing bay containing four beaches. The first beach (GK06) is a 200m long pocket of south facing high tide sand fronted by a coral reef flat that extends 100 to 150m off the beach. The reef flat continues on past the main, 550m long, sandy high tide beach (GK07), which is backed by a 10m high foredune and a small sand flat. The beaches only receive low, attenuated waves at high tide because of the reefs, while at mid to low tide the waves break across the reef. These are delightful beaches at high tide for a swim, or for a wander over the reefs at low tide.
Beach Length: 0.2km
