Wreck Beach (GK01) is 1.4km long and curves around within the bay to face generally east. It is bordered by the southern slopes of 115m high Big Peninsula in the north and a 60m high headland to the south. It receives waves averaging 0.5 to 1m which break across a 200m wide, continuous, low gradient bar and the high tide beach. The northern half of the beach is backed by climbing, largely vegetated dunes that rise to 40m before slipping over into a beach (GK20) on the north side of the island.
Beach Length: 1.4km
