Currmundi beach (1550) is a 1.3 km long, east facing beach located between the mouth of Currmundi Lagoon and some low rocks that separate it from Dickey Beach. The northern 500 m are backed by the small Currmundi residential area, with a foreshore reserve and beachfront houses. The southern half lies on either side of the small Coondibah Lagoon, that occasionally flows across the beach. The land surrounding the lagoon is a national fitness camp, with a small section of residential houses at the southern end. There is good beach access via the streets and car parks at either end. The beach receives waves averaging just over 1 m, which maintain a series of four to five rips across the bar. These rips occasionally infill during lower waves.

Swimming

A moderately hazardous beach when rips are present and the lagoons are open. Stay clear of rips and on the attached sections of the bar.

Surfing

Usually a low to moderate beach break, with conditions depending on the bars and rips.

Fishing

A popular spot for beach fishing when there are rip holes, and creek fishing when the lagoons are open.

General

An accessible, but relatively natural beach with a continuous foredune, two lagoons and a wooded area in the fitness camp.
